The Snub is the fifth episode of the first season of American Housewife. Written by Rick Wiener & Kenny Schwartz and directed by Ryan Case, it aired on November 15, 2016.
Plot[]
Katie tries to fit in with the other Westport moms in order to get Anna-Kat invited to a popular girl's birthday party. When Anna-Kat still isn't invited, Katie vents to Angela and Doris, and realizes her daughter doesn't need a bunch of friends, just a couple of close ones. Elsewhere, Greg tries to convince Taylor that she can't get by on her athletic ability alone, while Oliver complains about a flawed polo shirt that his mom bought at an outlet store.

Greg: Katie it’s floating just give me a break already.
Katie: ugh! (Goes downstairs)
Greg: how about we take you to the Disney
Katie: world.
Anna-Kat: (gasps happily) Disney world. (To Taylor and Oliver) hey guys were going to Disney world.
Greg: I was gonna take you to the Disney store. The Disney store. Now we have to disappoint her all over again. (Him and Katie go to Anna-Kat’s room) honey, Mr Toad officially shut it down.
Anna-Kat: (gets all sad)
Katie: I’m so sorry honey.
Anna-Kat: (makes a sad sound and gets all sad)
Katie: come.
Anna-Kat: (both hug and Katie rubs Anna-Kat’s back during the hug while Anna-Kat is still sad about Disney world) (says this paragraph during the hug) I really wanted to go. (Gets even more sad)
Katie: (says this paragraph during the hug) I know. It’s ok. Daddy and I will tell you something though.
Greg: how about we take you to see
Katie: world.
Anna-Kat: (gasps happily) sea world? (To Taylor and Oliver) hey guys were going to sea world.
Katie: this is why I’m her favorite parent.

Katie: my little princess.
Anna-Kat: (acts like cuckoo pants and giggles while acting like cuckoo pants)
Katie: aw. Come here cuckoo pants.
Anna-Kat: (giggles while her and Katie hug) (says this paragraph during the hug) I love hugs.
Katie: (says this paragraph during the hug) I know. (Chuckles and rubs Anna-Kat’s back during the hug while Anna-Kat is still acting like a weirdo)

Anna-Kat: I’m not talking to you.
Katie: Anna-Kat come on. You have to do your chores or else we’re not going to sea world this weekend.
Anna-Kat: (throws a fit)
Katie: Anna-Kat stop being so cranky pants. Just do the chores or we’re not going this weekend. Do your chores.
Anna-Kat: I don’t want to. (Throws a spoon at Katie)
Katie: hey no throwing spoons at me. If you keep this up, you’re not getting pickles back.
Anna-Kat: but I love her she’s my favorite stuffed animal.
Katie: I know she’s your favorite but you have to behave so you can have her back.
Anna-Kat: UGH!
Katie: well ugh is not gonna make you wanna earn pickles back.
Anna-Kat: (throws a fit)
Katie: throwing a fit is not gonna help to make you wanna earn pickles back.
Anna-Kat: but what am I gonna do to make myself want pickles back?
Katie: well let’s talk. So maybe you should be very nice to everyone especially me. If you wanna earn then you have to respect me and listen to me and do as I say. OK?
Anna-Kat: but what about pickles? (Voice breaking) I don’t want you to throw away pickles. (Starts crying)
Katie: I won’t throw away pickles. You’re just gonna earn for her so if you wanna earn pickles back, then do your chores.
Anna-Kat: (rudely) fine.
Katie: don’t say fine to me like that. Say it nicer.
Anna-Kat: (nicely) fine. (Continues crying)
Katie: (sighs) come here. I know it’s a little hard to earn pickles back. Come here. (Both hug and Katie rubs Anna-Kat’s back during the hug while Anna-Kat is still crying) I’ll know what we can do. So today is Monday. So for this week only, I’ll go to Walmart, we’ll get a piece of paper and a clipboard and we’ll do reward systems. Do you want that so you can earn pickles back?
Anna-Kat: yeah. (Sniffles)
Katie: so I’ll go to the Walmart, I’m gonna get a paper and a clipboard and we’re gonna do reward systems when I get home. OK?
Anna-Kat: ok.
Katie: so for now why don’t you watch some TV. OK?
Anna-Kat: ok.
Katie: why don’t you see if miss spider’s sunny patch friends is on.
Anna-Kat: it’s on demand now.
Katie: then why don’t you watch it on demand right now while I go to Walmart to get all the supplies for the reward systems. We’ll do little tally marks on the reward systems paper. OK?
Anna-Kat: ok. (Sits on the couch and puts on miss spider’s sunny patch friends)

Katie: ok Anna-Kat I bought some of these and the paper and clipboard for the reward systems list for this week.
Anna-Kat: ok.

Anna-Kat: (rudely) I do not want anything of it you moron.
Katie: uh-uh-uh. What’s tomorrow?
Anna-Kat: (sadly) earning day.
Katie: then be nice so you can earn pickles back.
Anna-Kat: ok.
(Friday)
Katie: ok Anna-Kat you were very good for this week so you can have pickles back. (Gives Anna-Kat’s stuffed animal cat pickles to Anna-Kat)
Anna-Kat: thanks mama. (Both hug and Anna-Kat hugs her stuffed animal cat pickles while hugging Katie)
