The Anniversary[1] is the thirteenth episode of the second season of American Housewife, and the thirty-sixth episode overall. Written by Bill Callahan and directed by David Bertram, it aired on January 17, 2018.
Plot[]
Katie doesn't want one of Greg's over-the-top romantic gestures for their 18th anniversary, but such a gesture is just what Oliver needs when he screws up his first date with Gina by taking the wrong advice from Spencer. Frustrated with not getting anything on the school's candy-gram day, Anna-Kat scares the other students into giving their candy-grams to her. Meanwhile, Greg and Katie are convinced that Taylor is dating new fling Trip just to get under their skin, and plot to break up the two. The family set aside their different views to save Oliver’s relationship.

Katie: I can’t bring Anna-Kat like this. I don’t have it in me.

Ms Meltzer: Uh… excuse me. Did you bring a late note?
Doris: (laughs) (to Katie) You’re welcome.

Taylor: (opens and closes the door) Hey guys, we decided we want to be here for your anniversary dinner tonight.
Greg: Oh no. I’m sure you two have better things to do.
Taylor: Oh, we do but we’re gonna put them on hold because we’re all enjoying each other’s company so much. (To Trip) they’re making tacos.
Trip: TACOS!
Trip: (crunches away) Killer good Mr A.
Greg: I’m glad you like them Trip. I’ll get you some more. Katie help.
Taylor: I know what you two are up to. You’re just trying to use reverse psychology.
Taylor: Has it occurred to you that I might be dating him because I actually like him and it has nothing to do with you?
Katie: (chuckles) You know I don’t function that way.
Taylor: From now on, I’d appreciate it if you both stop butting into my life!
Katie: Privacy? Normally she wants me to hold her hand while she poops.
Greg: We’re going in. (Both go in the bathroom) what do you think you’re doing?
Anna-Kat: Getting rid of the evidence like the guy in Fargo who stole the wood chopper.
Greg: (to Katie) You let her watch Fargo?
Katie: You were supposed to close your eyes for that.
Greg (to Anna-Kat): As punishment, no electronics and no more secret movie time with mama.
Taylor: His (Trip’s) exact words were; There’s nothing more important than family, and family is really important because it’s family, and family is family.
Greg: Well said Trip.
Oliver (to Greg): (mouths) Thank you.
