Plot[]
The Otto family Christmas traditions are put on hold when Doris goes into labor and requests Katie's presence at the hospital. Unwilling to wait for Katie to open their presents, the kids and Greg take Christmas to the hospital. While helping Oliver figure out a way to woo Gina, a girl in his ballet group, Taylor wonders if she made a mistake breaking up with Eyo.
The episode starts where the kids try to open presents, but Katie stops them and try to do their family tradition. Oliver then says let’s just get to these stupid traditions in a rude voice, which makes Katie and Greg glare at him. But Oliver says that are so meaningful in a nicer tone, which makes Katie and Greg so happy for what he did, he changed his attitude. The kids do the traditions quick, but Katie stops them again because Doris called Katie and told the family that Doris is having a baby, so Christmas in on hold. Katie tells Greg no internet and to not let the kids open their presents. Which makes the kids very sad. Greg and the kids take Christmas into the hospital. But Katie doesn’t want them here because of Doris. But Doris said there’s a fireplace in the parlor right behind Taylor. Doris opens it and the kids are happy, but Katie is not. Taylor calls Eyo and tries to get back together with him but she realized breaking up was the right decision and she is standing by it. Greg’s hands get caught up when Katie rushes to be with him for his hands. From now on, Katie will be the wife, that she is gonna be. After Greg says Katie, Katie starts touching his hands and starts to break down in tears. Greg tells her that he’s not going anywhere, the kids aren’t going anywhere and his hands aren’t going anywhere. After he says all that, they both kiss, but after that, Doris screams so Greg tells Katie to be with her. Katie meets Doris at the yelling room holding her hand for the baby. They both walk to the hallway for Greg and the kids saying Merry Christmas. Katie apologizes to the kids for putting a hold on Christmas. After she apologizes, Katie tells the kids to go for it.

Oliver: (rudely) can we just get to the presents?
Greg: and then you say
Katie: don’t make me hit you on Christmas.
Oliver: (offended)
Greg: and then we all make the speech and that’s it.

(Taylor and Oliver are like what)
Sonny: (laughing hysterically because of what Greg said about the story)
Greg: yep and they all loved the whole speech of felling and they all lived happily ever after the end.
(Taylor and Oliver again are like what while Sonny continues laughing hysterically because of what Greg said about the story)
Carly: (to Greg) what the hell was that kind of speech?
Greg: well it’s a speech that I do. So we all know about it.....so no one is gonna clap for me when I’m done with my speech?
Carly: I don’t think so and neither am I.
Greg: well anyone can clap for me if they want because everyone just sang along to the Christmas carols the end.
Anna-Kat: (gasps happily)
(Taylor and Oliver are still like what)
Anna-Kat: (gets up from the couch chair and starts clapping for Greg when Greg is finished with his story)
Molly: (bleep)
Sonny: (still laughing hysterically while Anna-Katie is still clapping for Greg)

Sonny: (still laughing hysterically)
Anna-Kat: (continues clapping her hands for Greg)
Greg: (takes a bow while Anna-Kat is still clapping for him)
Anna-Kat: (continues clapping her hands for Greg)
Taylor: (rolls her eyes angrily because of Anna-Kat who is clapping her hands for Greg)
(Doris calls Katie)
Katie: (answers the phone) hello
Doris: bring me drugs you hack.

Anna-Kat: yeah. (Continues crying and sniffles)
Katie: but you have to listen, we can’t always open presents in the morning because we got plans. And I understand you want to I know.
Anna-Kat: (continues crying) yes. But you said you wouldn’t go anywhere which means you could’ve stayed with me. I don’t want you to leave. (Continues crying and sniffles)
Katie: (sighs, both hug and Katie rubs Anna-Kat’s back during it while Anna-Kat is still crying tears of sadness) (she says all this stuff to Anna-Kat during their hug) I know you don’t want me to leave but don’t worry. It’s ok. Sometimes I leave without you because I have plans that I don’t take you on. But don’t worry. It’s ok.
Anna-Kat: but that means you’re not gonna be with us for the rest of Christmas Day. (Continues crying and sniffles)

Anna-Kat: a little.
Katie: I know I know. But your Dad will be here for you so but if you’re still on a meltdown, just call me from the house phone if you’re still crying. OK?
Anna-Kat: ok. (Sniffles)
Katie: I know I know. Come on. (Her and Anna-Kat go close to the door) but don’t worry. I’ll be back as soon as I can.
Elizabeth: ok Greg if you need anything from me or Katie, call us.
Greg: ok I will. But let me google my symptoms. I need is fast money for them.
Katie: no internet I’ll be back as soon as I can and no matter what, do not let them open their presents. (Anna-Kat and Taylor hug during this because Anna-Kat hugs Taylor first and Taylor hugs Anna-Kat back)
(Oliver glares at Greg, Anna-Kat gets sad because of Greg an Taylor is like “what’s happening?”)
Greg: (nods and him and Katie kiss)
Oliver: I can’t believe you have to lock up our presents in your office because you don’t trust us. Is that what we’re at dad?

Anna-Kat: mm-hmm. Every time I hear it, it makes me cry so sad. (Continues crying)
Katie: aw baby it’s ok that twinkle twinkle little star makes you cry tears of sadness. Does it really?
Anna-Kat: (sniffles) uh-huh. When you put on that for me when I went to sleep?

Here is this one under the tallies, if I cry because something that my parent is forcing me to do, If something is wrong, if I’m having a sad day or a song that I don’t like which makes me sad and cry.
Anna-Kat: ok. I pick the sad day and the song that I don’t like.

Greg: yeah?
Katie: can you get a pillow for Anna-Kat?

Anna-Kat: (continues crying)
Katie: (shushes Anna-Kat quietly) it’s ok. Do you want a bedtime story to cheer you up?
Anna-Kat: uh-huh. (Sniffles)
Katie: ok. (Takes out A Charlie Brown Christmas)
Anna-Kat: (takes couple deep breaths for 20 seconds and lays on Katie’s arms while Katie reads her a story)
Katie: Hi my honey. (Rubs Anna-Kat’s back while reading the story to her) A Charlie Brown Christmas. (Flips the page and continues reading to Anna-Kat) Christmastime was here-the time when snowflakes fell softly and the sounds of carols (bells) rang through the air. It was the time filled with happiness. And for children everywhere, it was their favorite time of year. Just like you my little sweetheart.
Anna-Kat: (smiles and Katie rubs Anna-Kat’s back while Katie continues reading to her (Anna-Kat)
Katie: (flips the page and continues reading to Anna-Kat) But one little boy wasn’t feeling very excited about Christmas. “I just don’t understand Christmas.” Charlie Brown said, as light snow began the fall, “I might be getting presents, sending Christmas cards, and decorating trees, but I’m still not happy, I always end up feeling depressed.” Linus told him, “Charlie Brown, you’re the only person I know who can take a wonderful season like Christmas and turn it into a problem.” Linus said. “Lucy’s right. Of all the Charlie Browns in the world, you are the Charlie Browniest.” (Flips the page and continues reading to Anna-Kat) At the local skating pond, the boys found their friends playing a round of crack-the-whip. Snoopy grabbed Linus’s blanket to drag him onto the ice-but he caught Charlie Brown in it, and sent him flying into a snow bank! Charlie Brown wasn’t surprised. Things like that always happen to him. And the holiday season, when he didn’t get his cards and even his own dog (Snoopy) ignored him, only made it more obvious. He needed someone to talk to.
Anna-Kat: Who did he need to talk to mama? (Sniffles)
Katie: I don’t know. We’ll find out when we turn the page. (Flips the page and continues reading to Anna-Kat) Lucy dashed over to her psychiatry booth to meet Charlie Brown. “May I help you?” She asked. “I am in sad shape.” Charlie Brown replied with a sigh. “My trouble is Christmas. I don’t understand it. Instead of feeling happy, I feel sort of left down.” (Flips the page and continues reading to Anna-Kat) Lucy knew just how to fix Charlie Brown’s problem. “You need to get involved in a Christmas project.” She declared, “How would you like to be the director of our Christmas play?” “Me? But I don’t know anything about directing a Christmas play.” Charlie Brown said. “Don’t worry. I’ll be there to help you.” Lucy said. “I’ll meet you in the Auditorium.” (Flips the page and continues reading to Anna-Kat) Just then, Snoopy walked past, carrying a box filled with decorations. Charlie Brown followed Snoopy back to his doghouse. “What’s going on here?” Charlie Brown asked. Snoopy handed him a flyer, and Charlie Brown read, “Find the true meaning of Christmas. Win money, money, money at the spectacular, super-colossal lights and display contest!” Oh, no. My dog has gone commercial. I can’t stand it.” Charlie Brown threw the flyer on the ground. (Flips the page and continues reading to Anna-Kat) On his way to the Auditorium, He ran into his sister, Sally. “I’ve been asking for you, big brother.” She said overly. “Will you please write a letter to Santa Claus for me?” Sally knew exactly what she wanted, but her list was too long. She decided it would be easier to ask for money. “How about tens and twenties?” She suggested. “Tens and twenties? Oh, even my baby sister.” Charlie Brown groaned. Surely, Christmas was about more than money and presents! (Flips the page and continues reading to Anna-Kat) In the auditorium, the whole Peanuts gang danced to a jazzy tune that Schroeder played on his piano. Charlie Brown walked onto the stage. “Let’s get right down to work.” He said. “It’s important that you pay strict attention to the director. Am I right? I said am I right?” But no one payed any attention to Charlie Brown. They had started dancing again! (Flips the page and continues reading to Anna-Kat) “Stop the music!” Charlie Brown yelled. “We’re going to do this play and we’re going to do it right. Lucy, pass out those scripts and costumes.” One by one, the kids found out their roles in the play. Frieda would play the innkeeper’s wife. Pig Pen would play the innkeeper. Shermy would play the shepherd, and Snoopy would play all the animals in the script-and even some that weren’t! (Flips the page and continues reading to Anna-Kat) “Let’s rehearse the scene at the inn.” Charlie Brown directed, “Let’s take it from the top. Place. ACTION!” But once more, started dancing and fooling around. Charlie Brown rolled his eyes. Like Taylor does all the time.
Anna-Kat: (giggles because of what Katie said and then sniffles)
Katie: (giggles with Anna-Kat and continues reading to her) and then, Charlie Brown said “Good Grief.” (Flips the page and continues reading to Anna-Kat) “That does it.” Charlie Brown exclaimed. “If we’re ever going to get this play off the ground, we’ve got to have some cooperation!” “Let’s face it.” Replied Lucy. “We all know that Christmas is a big commercial racket.” “Well, this is one play that’s not going to be commercial!” Charlie Brown insisted. “We need the proper mood. We need a Christmas tree!” (Flips the page and continues reading to Anna-Kat) Lucy nodded excitedly, “A great, big, skinny aluminum Christmas tree! That’s it, Charlie Brown! You get the tree. I’ll handle this crowd.” “Okay. I’ll take Linus with me. The rest of you practice your-lines.” Charlie Brown said firmly. “Get the biggest aluminum tree you can find.” Called Lucy. “Yeah. Do something right for a change Charlie Brown.” Peppermint Patty added, as the boys walked into the cold winter night. (Flips the page and continues reading to Anna-Kat) They followed a set of gleaming spotlights to a Christmas tree lot. It was filled with shiny metal trees, polka-dotted trees, and trees in every color of the rainbow. Clink. Clink. Clink. Linus knocked on one of the metal trees. “Gee, do they still make wooden Christmas trees?” Asked Linus. He didn’t see anything like that in the Christmas tree lot. (Flips the page and continues reading to Anna-Kat) Then, Charlie Brown spotted a small, scraggly pine tree. It had a wooden trunk and soft green needles. “This little green one here seems to need a good home!” He said excitedly. “I don’t know Charlie Brown,” Linus said, “Remember what Lucy said? This doesn’t seem to fit the modern spirit.” “I don’t care.” Charlie Brown said. “We’ll decorate it and it will be just right for one of our play. Besides, I think it needs me. (Flips the page and continues reading to Anna-Kat) Soon Charlie Brown and Linus walked onto the stage. “We’re back.” Charlie Brown announced as he set the tree on top of Schroeder’s piano. When the kids rushed over to see the tree, their mouths dropped in shock. The scraggly little tree was not they had expected. “You were supposed to get a good one. Can’t you even tell a good tree from a poor tree?” Lucy asked. “You’re hopeless Charlie Brown.” Added Peppermint Patty. Charlie Brown sighed, “I shouldn’t have picked this little tree. Everything I do turns into a disaster. I guess I really don’t know what Christmas is all about. Isn’t there anyone who knows what Christmas is all about?” He exclaimed. “Sure Charlie Brown.” Said Linus. “I can tell you what Christmas is all about.” Linus crossed to the center of the stage. The lights dimmed, and a spotlight shone down on him. (Flips the page and continues reading to Anna-Kat) “And there were shepherds in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. The angel came and said, “Fear not for behold, I bring you tidings of great joy, which will be to all people. For unto you is born this day a savior, which is Circus the Lord. Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes lying in a manger! And suddenly, there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying “Glory to God in the highest, and on Earth piece, goodwill toward men.” Everyone was silent when Linus finished. “That’s what Christmas is all about Charlie Brown.” He finally said. (Flips the page and continues reading to Anna-Kat) Charlie Brown picked up the tree and walked outside. He stared up at the night sky, “Linus is right.” He said. “I won’t let all this commercialism ruin my Christmas. I’ll take this little tree home and decorate it and I’ll show them it really will work in our play.” (Flips the page and continues reading to Anna-Kat) Then, the rest of the Peanuts gang arrived. “I never thought it was a bad little tree,” Linus said. He straightened the tree’s bent trunk and wrapped his blanket around its base. “It’s not bad at all, really. It just needs a little love.” Without speaking, the other kids took the lights and ornaments off Snoopy’s doghouse and used them to decorate. Before their very eyes it transformed into a very beautiful tree! (Flips the last page) Charlie Brown walked up to the group-and barely recognized the tree. “What’s going on here?” He exclaimed. “Merry Christmas Charlie Brown.” The kids exclaimed. And together, all around that beautiful Christmas tree, they began to sing. (Closes the book) The End. Feeling better now sweetheart?
Anna-Kat: Kinda. (Sniffles and hugs her stuffed animal bird)
Katie: Do you wanna watch something on my phone to cheer you up?
Anna-Kat: uh-huh. (Sniffles)
Katie: ok. (Turns on her phone and puts on Miss Spider’s Sunny Patch Friends and her and Anna-Kat watch it together)
Anna-Kat: (inhales and exhales silently 3 times)
Katie: Listen, hearing a song on the echo dot is nothing to cry about. OK?
Anna-Kat: OK. (Sniffles)
Katie: And I know it makes you a little sad but don’t worry. I’ll always be here for you no matter what. OK?
Anna-Kat: OK. (Sniffles and her and Katie continue hugging each other while Katie is rubbing Anna-Kat’s back during the hug)
Katie: It is ok. I promise you.
Anna-Kat: OK. (Her and Katie continue hugging and watching their show on Katie’s cell phone)
Katie: I love you very much my sweetheart.
Anna-Kat: I love you too mama. (Her and Katie continue hugging during the show)
(flashback ends)
Katie: I remember that.
Anna-Kat: (still crying) I hate it so much and it makes my heart super sad and I don’t know what if I listen to it again. I’m still not loving the song. (Continues crying)
Katie: it’s ok. Listen, if you don’t like a song that makes you cry, it’s ok and will move on to another one. OK?
Anna-Kat: OK. (Continues crying)
Katie: it’s ok. just take a deep breath. OK?
Anna-Kat: OK. (Sniffles)
Katie: one two three, breath in smell the flowers
Anna-Kat: (inhales)
Katie: and breath out blow out the birthday candles.
Anna-Kat: (exhales)
Katie: feel better now?
Anna-Kat: (no more tears and sadness and comes back to happiness with no tears) uh-huh. Thanks mama for cheering me up.
Katie: your welcome. I’ll see you in a bit.
Anna-Kat: ok. I love you.
Katie: I love you too.
Anna-Kat: bye.
Katie: bye. (Katie hangs up from the house phone from Anna-Kat and calls Greg’s phone) hey honey, I just spoke to Anna-Kat on the house phone.
Greg: what do you mean? She was using the house phone?
Katie: yes because I heard her crying on the phone because she misses me and twinkle twinkle little star that I put on to her on the first day of winter during her bedtime that night.
Greg: oh I remember that night.
Carly: oh that night were Sonny and I went out to dinner at 6:30 PM and didn’t come back until 11 because we were walking around Westport? Yeah I remember that night.
Katie: yeah. I asked her if she wanted to come to the hospital and see me and bring the presents and she said yes.
Greg: Great. I’ll see you in a bit.
Katie: OK. Bye.
Greg: bye. (Both hang up)
Carly: If we’re going to the hospital, I am going to get my keys. Just as so you know, I’m driving by the way.
Anna-Kat: (falls down bleeding, starts crying in pain and knocks on Greg’s office door when crying tears of painness) daddy, I need you. I’m bleeding.
Greg: you are? Your mom might’ve gave you something if your were bleeding.
Anna-Kat: just open the door daddy please. (Continues crying tears of painness)
Greg: (gets out of the office and gets a band aid for Anna-Kat) here.
Anna-Kat: thanks daddy. (Puts the bandaid on and her and Greg hug and Greg rubs Anna-Kat’s back during the hug while Anna-Kat is still crying tears of painness)
Greg: Do you wanna see mama?
Anna-Kat: uh-huh. (Sniffles)
Greg: come on. You can stay on your pjs while we are out.
Anna-Kat: mama told me that on the phone when I was crying over her. And now I am still. (Voice breaks even more) I want mama. (Continues crying tears of sadness and sniffles)
Greg: come on. (To Taylor and Oliver) Guys, we’re gonna go to the hospital.
Taylor: Why?
Greg: Because your sister is crying because of Mom because Anna-Kat misses her so much so let’s go. (Everyone goes in the car to the hospital to see Katie and Doris)
(when they got there 11:15 AM)
Anna-Kat: (gasps happily and screams in excitement) MAMA. (Her and Katie hug)
Katie: hi honey. Are you happy now that you saw me now?
Anna-Kat: uh-huh.
Katie: cool. (To Greg) hey honey.
Greg: hi.
Katie: thanks for bringing them and the presents.
Greg: your welcome. Anna-Kat was bleeding so she’s band-aiding herself.
Katie: that’s cool sweetheart. Thank you.
Greg: your welcome. (Walks out of the room)
Katie: (to Anna-Kat) do you wanna stay with me because of the first day of winter when you were crying after twinkle twinkle little star?
Anna-Kat: mm-hmm.
Katie: ok. (Both hug for 2 minutes) (to Taylor and Oliver) if you guys wanna go you can.
Both: thank you. (Walk away)
Katie: You’re welcome. (says this paragraph to Anna-Kat during the hug) I love you.

(when they got home)
(4:30 PM)
Anna-Kat: (exhales sharply)
Katie: sweetie what’s wrong?
Anna-Kat: I’m getting too excited about presents. (Continues exhaling sharply and makes nervous sounds because she might be starting to puke and she runs to the garbage can and starts puking)

Carly: Good because if I were you guys, I really would’ve stayed inside.
Anna-Kat: (gets all happy and goes out to play in the snow)
Katie: (groans) I’ll watch her. (Goes outside and watches Anna-Kat) I know you love the snow.

Lulu: (comes downstairs) ok. I unpacked my stuff cause I’m staying her for a couple of weeks. (Looks out the window and gasps) what the hell.
Greg: I know. I checked everywhere and now we’re all upset.
Taylor: yep. I’m not going outside because I don’t want to get thrown in the snow. Maybe I’ll shovel it.
Greg: yeah please. Thanks.
Taylor: (goes outside to shovel the snow)
Anna-Kat: (throws a snowball at Taylor)
Taylor: (gets thrown by a snowball from Anna-Kat) what the hell. I hate this snow so much. (Shovels the driveway angrily because she doesn’t like snow)
Anna-Kat: (giggles because she threw a snowball at Taylor)
Katie: Anna-Kat, don’t throw snowballs at Taylor.

Katie: yeah. I told Anna-Kat to wear one but to try it on and then I go sweetie it’s gotta go over your nose.
Brook Lynn: well yeah masks go over your nose.
Katie: yep. Anna-Kat lunchtime.
Anna-Kat: (comes downstairs) what is this?
Katie: it’s a ham sandwich.
Anna-Kat: (gasps sadly, gets very sad and hides under the table)
Katie: sweetie, what’s wrong?
Anna-Kat: I don’t know if I don’t eat ham? (Gets even more sad)
Brook Lynn: huh, so now she’s afraid of ham.
Katie: suddenly yes.
Brook Lynn: wow.
Anna-Kat: (continues being scared and sad of the ham that Katie gave her for lunch)
Katie: aw it’s ok. Just try it.
Anna-Kat: (tries the ham) it’s too much. I’m scared. (Hides her hair in her face and gets scared and sad and hides under the table while she hides her hair in her face)
Brook Lynn: does this happen like every day?
Katie: not really but sometimes so right now she gets scared of the ham like every time I give her it.
Brook Lynn: oh. Wow. Remember at Doris’ charity she cried because she lost her electronics?
Katie: yeah.
Brook Lynn: the charity was awesome.
Katie: I know. (To Anna-Kat) aw sweetheart I don’t think you like it. Right?
Anna-Kat: (more sad) mm-hmm.
Katie: aww come here.
Anna-Kat: (hides her hair in her face and gets scared and sad so she and Katie hug for a half an hour)
Katie: (talks while hugging Anna-Kat) aww my baby. Aww. It’s ok. I know that you are scared of ham and I know it’s sad but don’t worry. I’ll give you something else for lunch.
Anna-Kat: ok. I don’t know? (Continues sadness)
Katie: aw (hugs Anna-Kat more) here. Is it I’m scared of something?
Anna-Kat: uh-huh. (Continues being sad and shy)
Katie: aw. (Both hug and Katie rubs Anna-Kat’s back during it) do you wanna bring your stuffed animal to cheer you up?
Anna-Kat: mm-hmm.
Katie: I’ll go with you. (Her and Anna-Kat go to Anna-Kat’s room to find her stuffed animal bird then come back downstairs to the living room) (sighs) I know you have your pjs on so we can just spend time with each other because nobody’s home I guess. You have your pj dress on.
Anna-Kat: uh-huh. (Giggles)
Katie: Are you wearing underpants under it?
Anna-Kat: (checks her private part) no. Why?
Katie: just checking.
Anna-Kat: ok. (Acts like cuckoo pants and giggles while acting like cuckoo pants)
Katie: come here. (Both hug and Katie rubs Anna-Kat’s back during the hug while Anna-Kat is acting like weirdo)
Anna-Kat: mama. (Acts like a weirdo more)
Katie: weirdos.
Brook Lynn: (laughs because Katie called Anna-Kat a weirdo)
Anna-Kat: (giggles and her and Katie hug more and Katie rubs Anna-Kat’s back during the hug) where’s daddy?
Katie: he’s at work.
Anna-Kat: what about Taylor?
Katie: she’s with her friends.
Anna-Kat: what about Oliver?
Katie: also out with his friends.
Anna-Kat: (gets sad) aw.
Katie: don’t worry. They’ll be back in a couple hours. Do you want to sleep in my bedroom with me tonight?
Anna-Kat: uh-huh.
Katie: ok. Do you want some baked ziti for lunch?
Anna-Kat: uh-huh.
Katie: ok.
Katie: and now here’s some baked ziti for my little Anna-Kat. (Serves the baked ziti to Anna-Kat)
Anna-Kat: (gasps happily) thanks mama. (Claps her hands for Katie)
Katie: (takes a bow while Anna-Kat is clapping for her) thank you for clapping and your welcome.
Anna-Kat: (giggles and eats baked ziti) mm I love it. (Eats baked ziti more)
(2:45 PM)
Anna-Kat: I just wanted my pjs on but I have them on now because there’s nothing for me to do.
Katie: mm-hmm. There isn’t. I know. What movie do we wanna watch?
Anna-Kat: um...can we watch cars 3?
Katie: sure.
Anna-Kat: thanks mama.
Katie: your welcome sweetheart. (Both hug) I love you.
Anna-Kat: I love you too.
Katie: but first, you wanna hamburger?
Anna-Kat: (barks yes and pints like a dog)
Katie: fetch. (Throws the hamburger to Anna-Kat and Anna-Kat eats it like a dog barking and pinting and acts like cuckoo pants and giggles while acting like cuckoo pants and barking and pinting like a dog being all happy while doing it)
Katie: hmm my little princess sweetheart doggy cuckoo pants. (Rubs Anna-Kat’s back while Anna-Kat is still acting like a weirdo) why don’t we sit on the couch.
Anna-Kat: ok. (Acts like cuckoo pants while running to the couch and barks like a dog)
Katie: (chuckles) I love you Anna-Kat.
Anna-Kat: I love you too mama. (Barks and pints like a dog while acting like cuckoo pants)
Sam: so she’s your dog now?
Katie: not really but she’s acting like one because she acts like cuckoo pants every day because she gets very happy and giggly.
Sam: damn. She sure is. I’ve been seeing her like that ever since the charity that Doris attended for us and everyone else that was invited.
Katie: uh-huh.
Anna-Kat: (acts like cuckoo pants and giggles while acting like cuckoo pants)
Katie: do you want to hear a story?
Anna-Kat: uh-huh.
Katie: ok. So here it goes. When I first met your father, I was thinking he’s hot. Then, him and I shared ice cream together on Valentine’s Day. We were best friends since we first met. We were still friends until your father proposed to me and I said yes. I was so happy I wanted to hug a horse. I was in tears when I got married. When I first had Taylor, my stomach was hurt so bad my water broke for an hour and 45 minutes.
Anna-Kat: (gasps) that’s terrible.
Katie: I know. I had to be on the hospital for 38 days. Then I had Taylor and we were all good. When I had Oliver, I was ok. When I had you, my water broke for a half an hour every day. I was crying so bad because of the pregnancy so I puked over the house and your father had to clean it up. I was yelling so hard because I didn’t want to make it happen but it did. So I screamed all day and night. Your father was my best friend. He is always there for me and I’m always there for him. And most importantly, he’s there for you, Taylor and Oliver. And he loves you and I love you so much and I’ll always. If you are still grounded, I will always love you. I always love you and I do so much and you were my favorite until the end of last year. And you are right now for today because no one’s here. It’s our secret. I’ve known you for 8 years now and I love you so much and you are always my hero. I am so proud of you for what you do and you’ve been earning tallies for the reward systems list and you do things right. And I’m proud. You should be proud of yourself. And so am I. I’m always proud of myself and I’m proud of you.
Anna-Kat: thanks mama. You’re my favorite person.
Katie: aw come here. (Her and Anna-Kat hug) I love you so much Anna-Kat.
Anna-Kat: I love you so much too mama.
Katie: now do you wanna watch cars 3?
Anna-Kat: uh-huh. (Claps her hands because she loves cars 3)
Katie: (chuckles and claps with Anna-Kat and they both giggle while clapping and after that, they both hug for 10 minutes)
Katie: ok. (Both stop hugging) let’s watch some cars 3.
Anna-Kat: ok.
Katie: ok. (Turns on cars 3 and her and Anna-Kat eat popcorn during the movie while Anna-Kat is hugging her stuffed animal bird while watching cars 3)
(the fighting scene of cars 4:30 PM)
Taylor: (opens and closes the door) hey Mom.
Katie: hey. How was your friend’s house?
Taylor: it was good. I was holed up for a little bit because there were some incidents but we had pizza for lunch.
Katie: that’s cool.
Taylor: yeah. I’m great at my driving lessons so I think I’m doing pretty good.
Katie: that’s cool honey.
Taylor: it is cool. I try and drive someplace to Starbucks and it’s a long line so I just
Anna-Kat: (hugs Taylor and Taylor hugs her back)
Taylor: oh hi. (Hugs Anna-Kat back while she hugs Taylor)
Katie: Aw. I love it when the two of you hug. It makes me and your father so happy.
Anna-Kat: (to Taylor) I’m so glad you’re home. I’ve been missing you all day.
Taylor: yeah I know.
Katie: she has been like this all day.
Taylor: who Anna-Kat?
Katie: yes. But she was hiding from the ham I gave her for lunch. So I decided that we can have spaghetti and meatballs for dinner.
Taylor: cool. I’m gonna go upstairs for a little bit. (Walks upstairs to her room)
Katie: sweetie I want you to help me make diner tonight.
Anna-Kat: why?
Katie: because I need you to help me. Your dad is working until midnight.
Anna-Kat: aw. I’ll never see him.
Katie: it’s ok sweetie. You have me and I’m here. So first thing your gonna out the water into hot with the sink.
Anna-Kat: ok.
(when dinner was ready)
Katie: DINNER!
Oliver: (opens and closes the door) I’m back. Cooper’s was fun. We played video games for a little bit then we sat silently in Cooper’s room for a couple hours.
Katie: cool.
(9:00 PM)
Katie: Anna-Kat honey, I’ll be there in a few minutes.
Anna-Kat: OK mama.
